Under-Graduate Programs
Courses and Credits
Educational period in the Department is totally five years including one year of obligatory English preparation course. The courses are given in the fall and spring semesters of each year. Each semester the students are obligated to take course work with a minimum of 15 and maximum 22 credits. To graduate from the Department a total number of credits of a student at the end of the four year education must be at least of 128 and the most 176. The students must complete their education within 4 to 7 years.
Instructional Language
The courses are instructed in Turkish. After one year of obligatory English preparatory education, at least 30% of the courses in under-graduate program are given in English.
Obligatory and Elective Courses
Students, successfully passing the exam to be exempted from the English preparation courses, may continue their education from the first year. The students must take courses such as Turkish Language, Atatürk’s Principles and History of Turkish Revolution and Foreign Language in addition to the division courses. Students who pass the adequacy exempt from the foreign language courses for that year. In addition, each year students may take one of the elective courses such as Physical Training and Sport (Volleyball, Basketball, etc.) or Art (Theatre, Cinema, Television, Classical Music, Photography, Turkish Art Music, Sound Education,Turkish Folk Music, Turkish Folk Dance, Jazz Music, Plastic Arts).
Academic Advisors
In the department, a number of academic staff provides counselling and advisorship services for each student, to help solving their problems by supporting their academic and personel development during their education.
