Scientific Works
A- Scientific Meetings
The Department of Child Development performs the following scientific works intending to family education to strengthen the sosio-economic and cultural functions of families and increase their effectiveness on the following groups of children: “normally” developing children, handicapped children, children with the need of protection, abused and neglected children, working children, hospitalized children, children with social disadvantages, immigrated children and homeless children.
- To design and realize in-service training programs in cooperation with Ministry of Health; Ministry of Education; General Directorate of Social Services and Protection of Children, Prime Ministry; Administration of Handicapped, Prime Ministry; and private institutions,
- To organize panels, congresses, conferences, symposiums,
- To plan and apply national and international projects and researches,
- To produce policies and prepare reports in cooperation with governmental institutions, UNICEF and non-governmental organizations in line with the needs of the country,
- To prepare publications for media,
- To provide contributions to the process of law making in cooperation with public institutions,
- To perform research programs to train colleagues and to review curriculum in line with the requirements of the country.
B- Publications
There are a number of researches, articles, reviews of the academic staff of the Child Development, in various national international journals. In addition, there are books of 1st National Special Education Congress, and 1st National (with international participation) Child Development and Education Congress, and theoretical, practical books for the development of normal and handicapped children between 0 and 18 years for age, and story books, prepared by staff of the Department.
